1. Though included with the Reserve Fleet at Portsmouth in the Navy List, WITCH apparently commissioned 22 November, 1931 for service with the 8th Flotilla on the China Station and is so listed
elsewhere on this website.
2. Though assigned to the First Battle Squadron with the Mediterranean Fleet, ROYAL SOVEREIGN was undergoing repairs at Portsmouth in October 1932 and was so also listed with the Reserve
Fleet.
3. Many of the officers listed here were not "commanding officers" but the senior officer assigned while the ship was under the control of the V.A.C. Reserve Fleet.
